After many years of discussion, the New York State Department of Transportation has added “Entering Long Island Sound Watershed” signs to the Long Island Expressway. The Citizens Advisory Committee had advocated for such signage, and the Long Island Sound Partnership had worded through the NYSDEC coordinator to bring it to DOT’s attention.
