Long Island Sound Resilience Resource Hub

As coastal communities face increasing environmental challenges, they need streamlined access to relevant and vetted information. The Long Island Sound (LIS) Resilience Resource Hub is a user-friendly, information-rich website designed to support coastal communities in New York and Connecticut as they plan for and respond to challenges such as flooding, erosion, and extreme weather. Developed by the long island sound partnership’s Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC) Work Group, in partnership with Connecticut Sea Grant and New York Sea Grant, this online hub serves as a one-stop resource for those working to enhance sustainability and resilience in the Long Island Sound region.

How the Resource Hub Supports Resilience

The LIS Resilience Resource Hub was developed in response to stakeholder needs and aligns with the goals of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) by offering tools and guidance to help communities:

  • Plan for climate resilience – Access curated resources organized by location, topic, and project planning phase to find relevant guidance for your community’s needs.
  • Secure funding for resilience projects – Search an up-to-date Funding Database for opportunities to support local sustainability and resilience initiatives.
  • Learn from real-world examples – Explore an interactive Case Studies Map featuring successful resilience projects from across the region.
  • Advance project development – Use the Resilience Planning Guide, which outlines eight key criteria for prioritizing and implementing sustainable and resilient projects.
  • Build knowledge and capacity – Stay informed about Upcoming Trainings and Events and access past workshop materials through the Trainings Archive.

Who Can Use the Resource Hub?

The Hub is designed for decision-makers including municipal officials, planners, nonprofit leaders, and community groups looking to strengthen their community’s resilience in the Long Island Sound region. Whether you are seeking funding, technical guidance, or successful examples, the hub provides a centralized space for accessing practical, locally-tailored resources.
