October is packed with ways to get outside, lend a hand and help Long Island Sound. And apparently, October beach cleanup season is also onesie season. Celebrate Halloween with a cleanup at West Meadow Beach on Long Island – costumes, aquatic alter egos, and suspiciously elaborate animal suits (furry, perhaps?) are welcome.

And if Halloween isn’t enough, we’re sneaking one November event onto the list. Mystic Aquarium and CT NERR are hosting a Mermaid Beach Cleanup at Bluff Point State Park. Grab an ocean-themed or winter onesie and clean the coast alongside a very special mermaid guest. Yes, really.
